Dear Potential Surrogate. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We hope that you can learn a little bit about who we are from this, and why we want your help. If there’s anything else you want to ask please ask and we’ll share everything. We are Rod 44 and Eoin 35 a gay male Irish couple who have been together for 5 years and married for one. We first met in Spain, when both of us were on holidays with different groups of friends in 2015. However, our paths initially crossed earlier that year when were both campaigning for marriage equality in Ireland. We fell in love rapidly and quickly knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, get married and possibly start a family one day. We moved in together in 2017 and haven’t looked back since, sharing our home with our golden retriever/Bernese Douglas. Thankfully our campaigning worked and we got married last summer in front of family and friends near where we both grew up in the west of Ireland. We both love bringing our family and friends into our home and host meals, birthday parties and even pancake Tuesdays for our extended social circles. We are lucky to have jobs that challenge us but don’t take over our lives – Eoin is a tax accountant and Rod is a lawyer. We are lucky enough to have a house with a back garden great for the long sunny summers in Ireland! in an area called Clontarf, a near suburb of Dublin. It’s a beautiful family-oriented neighbourhood on the sea and with a magnificent park less than a five minute walk from our house full of squirrels that Douglas is very interested in!. We are also lucky to have Rod’s two sisters living very close by one literally across the road and therefore have the joy of 5 nieces and 1 nephew very close also. Hopefully future baby-sitters! We are both outgoing chatty people who love to laugh. We come from families that are very strong and we are regularly in contact with them. We hope that we can share the great good fortune that we have of a loving family, with children. We want to experience the joy of extending out family from just us and the dog to the sleepless nights and long days of helping small people find their way in the world, and everything that comes after that. Even in this time of lock-down, when children are testing parents limits the world over, we feel that we have empty space in our lives that is waiting for the right little person or people to pop into it. We hope you can help with that.
