About this intended parent profile

My Story If you met me on the street, you’d probably just see an ordinary guy going to work, grabbing coffee, or trying to keep up with life. But underneath the surface, I carry a heavy chapter: I’m a cancer survivor. Beating cancer was the hardest fight of my life. I went through rounds of treatment-chemo, radiation, endless hospital visits, and the constant, terrifying shadow of the unknown. I survived, and for that, I am endlessly grateful every single day. But survival came with a hidden toll that doctors warned me about, but that you can never truly prepare for until you face it: the impact on my fertility. Now, my wife and I are staring down a new kind of heartache. We’ve always dreamed of building a family, of holding a child that is a piece of both of us. But because of the damage the treatment did to my body, getting pregnant naturally is an uphill battle we can't climb alone. It brings up a complicated mix of emotions. There’s gratitude that I’m here to live this life, mixed with a quiet grief for the natural path being taken away from us. It makes you question things about manhood, identity, and what it means to be a father. But more than anything, it makes us resilient. We’re currently looking at our options-whether that's looking into donor sperm, medical procedures, or other ways to make our dream of becoming parents a reality-because at the end of the day, being a dad isn't just about biology; it’s about love, commitment, and the family we are fighting to build together.

Message from this intended parent

Dear Donor, First and foremost, I want to thank you. Even though we may not know each other yet, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your selflessness and the incredible gift you are offering to others. My journey to this point has been quite a road. A few years ago, I faced a cancer diagnosis that changed my life. Beating that disease was the hardest fight I’ve ever had to endure, and while I am so grateful to be alive and by my wife's side today, the treatments that saved my life also took away my ability to have biological children. For a long time, that was a heavy reality for us to process. My wife and I share a deep love and an unbreakable dream of building a family, of holding a child in our arms, and of experiencing the profound joy-and sleepless nights-of parenthood. Because of your generosity, that dream is still within our reach. You are giving us something that cancer tried to take away: a future, a legacy, and hope. Words truly cannot capture what it means to know there are kind-hearted people in the world willing to help complete a family in this way. Thank you for your kindness, your compassion, and for playing such a vital, beautiful role in our lives. With sincere gratitude, An Appreciative person
