Message from the intended parents

You have obviously done a lot of soul-searching to be considering so deeply. You are making a brave and loving decision. We are amazed by the strength and beauty of your choice…and not only are we in awe, we are grateful. If compassion is genetic, and it very well may be, the fact that you are reading this already tells us something about you. To be able to know the people who will be raising your child and knowing that you are still going to be a part of their life (as you choose to be) must be a wonderful feeling. Our families are our biggest supporters in our decision . Troy is an only child who was adopted when he was a newborn and his parents divorced when he was young. His mom and step dad, Elva and Gary, as well as his dad and step mom, Don and Helena, live in Bancroft, Ontario. My parents, Mel and Carolyn, are still married and I have 2 brothers who all live in Red Deer. My older brother Tim and his wife Karen have been married for 16 years have 2 boys, Ryan, 14, and Justin, 13. My younger brother Greg and his wife Janelle (who was adopted herself) have been married for 5 years and have a boy, Jax, 3, and a girl, Journey, 1. We met through our sister-in-law, Janelle, in 2001 and knew almost instantly that we were meant to be together. We married in 2006 in a quiet ceremony on the beaches of Whitehouse, Jamaica. Our life is calm and peaceful even though we both have demanding jobs. Troy is a Correctional Officer with the Government of Alberta and I manage a Tim Hortons in Red Deer. Our home life today revolves around our cat, Bridgette, whom we got from the SPCA in 2002 as a kitten. Together we love to travel and spend time together. My husband Troy is one of the most loving, compassionate people I have ever met. He is full of life and enjoys living but is always preparing for our future. He loves to take his motorcycle out during the summer, he is also a great cook who is not afraid to try out any recipe(even ones he sees from the food channel). In quieter times he loves to read or put on the ipod and listen to his favourite band RUSH. My wife Suzanne’s heart has no bounds. She continually puts others before herself and her love for her family and friends is extraordinary. Her organizational skills would wow a CEO, but at the same time, she has a child-like quality that sees all the wonder in the small things in life. Her dedication and loyalty to the people surrounding her astounds me. Plus she is a great cook. Our child will always know of the sacrifice and the love you had in your decision to help us complete our family We feel that adoption is both joyful and bittersweet , and we will always be honest with our child and show the respect and love you showed in the gift you have given us.
