I am 35 and my husband is 37. We live in the Midlands and both work full time. We used to be very socialable but not so much now as all out friends have young families but we enjoy getting out into the countryside and walking. We love having a laugh and manage to keep each other sane although if I am honest our lives have been on hold for the past 4 years as we've gone from treatment to treatment. I would describe us as very down to earth, pretty laid back (in-spite of everything) with a good sense of humour.

Intended parents surrogacy preferences

We have been trying for a baby for 4 years and have now been through 6 failed IVF cycles and numerous miscarriages and 2 ectopic pregnancies. We feel that surrogacy is now our only option of ever having the children we've always dreamed of. We think surrogates are such amazing women and hope and pray our future involves one willing to help us.

Message from the intended parents

Dear Potential Surrogate, I am 35 and my husband is 37. We have been together since we were 18 and 20! Just after I turned 30 we agreed to start trying for children. We'd agreed from a very early age we would have children but wanted to be more settled and more financially secure to give our children all our love, attention and the best of everything. We are desperately sad and feel very guilty that we should have started trying a lot earlier but that probably wouldn't have made much difference in reality. Many of our friends who never wanted children now have achieved families so easily and we have had to be very strong to continue fighting for our dream despite all the disappointment and set backs. What is so so sad is that we produce good quality embryos but my body is hostile and with each cycle of treatment I feel like we are losing viable baby after baby. We love babies and children and nothing in life means more to us. We have considered other options but I was adopted and have never known any biological family members....I sometimes think I must be from another planet to find myself never having known my own biological parents and not able to have children of my own! It makes me extremely sad if I allow myself to think about it too much. I cannot put into words what it would mean to have our own biological children, it is everything. I find it very humbling that there are women out there willing to help us in this way and I just hope and pray someone sees our story and is happy to help. We are very laid back and would be willing to work through a surrogacy arrangement that has the Surrogates needs and wishes at the centre, as actually you are the most important person in this process. We would approach it in a way of wanting to do all we could to make you feel comfortable with what is agreed. Thanks
