We have been married for 5 + years and love our "fur child", but yearn for a human child. I am the strong silent type. I am quite quiet, but not afraid to speak my mind when I feel it is needed. My husband, on the other hand, is very outgoing and loves to talk. We have a great balance and our relationship is very strong. Respect for one another is what keeps us strong. We never lose sight of our love and importance to each other. Our children will be taught to love and respect everyone, above all else. I am described as gentle and caring. I am a passivist and support Human Rights charities. My husband is very generous of his time and energy and devotes his spare time to helping anyone who needs it. We are a mixed race couple. My husband is mixed race, hispanic,from Cuba. I am caucasian. His first language is Spanish, but he is fluent in English. Our child/children will be raised to speak both Spanish and English. My husband is very proud of his background, but also very proud to be "Canadian" , although he is a Permanent Resident of Canada and not a citizen, yet, he can't wait for his citizenship. He loves living here and has not had any difficulties adapting - it's amazing really! We have a very loving home which is often filled with our extended family, including young nieces and nephews. We love them like they are our own, but they always have to go home with their parents, unfortunately. My husband grew up with many family members around and finds it somewhat lonely to have everyone spread out and living in separate homes, as we do in Canada, so he likes to plan big family parties and is working on having our family living in the same neighbourhood. Our combined income is middle class. We are neither rich nor poor; we live comfortably. We will always travel frequently to Cuba and our children will find a huge family and culture there, which will embrace them. We had a Surrogacy and Egg Donor arrangement in India, earlier this year, but this did not result in a pregnancy. We have decided to try Surrogacy in Canada instead.

Dear Surrogate Mother, Your generosity of spirit in deciding to share your ability to have children with those who are unable, is amazing. I have read a great deal at this point on the Surrogacy process and so I have some idea of why women make this decision and I understand that the main motive is to give to others and not for monetary gain. I think you would have to gain an awfully lot more money than you do in order for that to be the primary motive. My husband and I are so grateful that women like you exist who are so selfless as to want to give to couples like us who are unable to have a child without your help. We hope that something about us will resonate with you and you will consider us as potential parents. We are willing to be as open as you would like. If you would like to be involved in the childs life through letters/e-mails/photos or wish to have more of an "auntie" role, we are always open to include more members to our family. As well, if you wish to go separate ways after the birth, we will understand and respect your privacy. We are very flexible.
