About the intended parents profile

We are an Italian gay couple. We married in Toronto (Canada) last August and we would like to fulfil our dream becoming dads! We already have two lovely, little, hairy sons: Minnie and Pulce (our dogs) and now our family is ready to welcome one or maybe two babies. In the last months we decided to face Italian homophobia and our unresolved wish of family and paternity. We decided to get married and to explore the ways to have a baby. Unfortunately in Italy we can't marry and obviously we can't adopt babies. Italy legislator is not very civilized and is too near to Vatican to think about civil rights. But we are not worried about it. In fact we have a great legal system with modern courts that often go against legislator defending civil rights. So we decided to get married in Toronto in August. In Italy it will not have legal effects (except of appearing in court for each single right that we want to obtain...) but it is an important step for us. We had also joined an Italian association of homosexual parents with children. We discovered a new world. We saw that there are many gay families that already live in Italy with babies. We understood that our dream could become true. We came into contact with some couples that have had surrogacy in the last years and immediately we felt that that would be our path. We have studied a lot, we took information about surrogacy, we dealt with social problem of growing up babies in a gay couple and we read many social and psychiatric research about it. We are working with a clinic (and an agency, a lawyer and an assisted fertility counselor...) in Toronto and we would love to hear back from potential surrogates in Canada. Now we are ready and we want to do it because we think that, despite of all, it is love that creates a family!

When you were born you filled our hearts with pride, And we were overcome by the joy we felt inside. As we held you in our arms that very first day, We knew we would never let any harm come your way. With your tiny little hands and tiny little feet, Everytime we look at you our hearts skip a beat. As we watch you sleep in the middle of the night, We hope and pray we will do everything right. We know we may make some mistakes along the way, But we promise to do our best not to every single day. We often wonder what you will grow up to be, But whatever you become will be fine with us. So whatever you may decide to do in your life, Maybe an astronaut, a lawyer, or even a doctor's wife. We can say this without any doubt at all, We will always be there to catch you if you fall. And another promise We make to you from us, Daddys's little angel you will always be.
