hope someone can help us? Firstly thank you for reading our post and looking at our little part of this website; it means a lot to us. We have both been reading the threads posted by others which seem very encouraging, there are lots of kind people out there that are willing to offer help. We now feel that it is our turn and the right time and are therefore asking for help. Joanne and I both love each other dearly and feel our life is not complete without children, we would like someone to help us and give both of us the opportunity to have our own children and start a family. We have a lot of obstacles against us; I am 31 and she is 42, the other is that she had a hysterectomy due to internal complications. We have been for an ultra sound scan and they have told us that she has one ovary and this is producing eggs. We attended a fertility centre for advice. Following this consultation, which was very upsetting, we were informed that due to her age that they would only be a 5% success rate, they would therefore not recommend removing any of Joanne’s eggs for use. In addition and given her history there could be risks involved in this procedure. This was a massive blow and we have really had to think hard; it has taken us over a year to finally write this thread. The news that I could not have a child with Anthony was devastating, we went through so many emotions from sadness to guilt to feelings of failure. This really is our dream we are two very loving people who are asking a lot we know.The only option that we now have is egg donation and to find a surrogate or someone who could accommodate both. We understand that this is a big ask, egg donation on its own would be greatly appreciated, and then we could continue searching to find a surrogate.
