Hello, my name is Cora. I began picking out names for my children at age 8 or so. Even from that early age I knew I was going to be a mommy. I am an only child. The Doctors told my mother that she would never conceive because she had Polio as a child, she proved them wrong on November 12, 1978! I have three step-sisters, and one step-brother. As they began getting married and having babies, I was thrilled to be the baby-sitter. I loved every second of time I got with my nieces and nephews, and that time only strengthened my desire to have my own children. At the age of 23, I almost lost my life. Due to severe Endometriosis, and Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome, I came near to bleeding to death. The doctors performed a emergency Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, and just like that, my dreams of having my own babies evaporated. But the desire has only gotten stronger. I love life, and I love my job, because I get to interact with many young children. I am blessed beyond measure with good friends who let me into their lives as parents, to give me a taste of what that is. Now, today, in my heart of hearts, I feel that it is time. This is why I am writing this letter. I am happy, but there is a piece of my heart filled to bursting with love to shower on my baby. Thank you.
