I am a single female who owns her own 2 bedroom home. I have been working full time as a registered nurse for 18 years. I presently live in the province of manitoba where I have a few wonderful friends but, in a year or so, I hope to move back to my home province of Alberta where my family and many more friends live. I am a relatively active person with many interests. I love hiking, biking, snow shoeing, skiing in the park, going to the beach, the theatre, ballet and music. I don't have any pets but love all kinds of animals however, sadly, I am allergic to cats. I am considering getting a dog for companionship.

I have travelled all over the world and have been putting motherhood aside for too long. I have always wanted to be a mother and consider it the most important desire of my heart. I have waited this long in hopes that I would find a partner who wanted the same things in life but that has not happened. I have meditated and prayed on the subject of being a single mother and have concluded that I am capable and joyously willing to do it alone if that is how it must be. If I thought that I could safely carry and deliver on my own I would but, the dangers involved at my age are a serious concern for both the baby and myself. I am totally open to the path of adoption or fostering but single women do not sit high on the shelf for adoption agencies and I hope to have the permanency of my own child than the inconsistencies fostering a child deals with. In order for me to be a mother I will need the help of another woman who can understand. I realize there are so many couples out there who need and want the same but I would not say they want it more than I do, have always done, or are more capable or loving than I would be.
