We are a gay couple who have been together for 8 years and got married nearly 3 years ago. We immigrated to Alberta from South Africa just over 2 years ago and have felt privileged to call Canada home. We hope to become Canadian citizens in the next couple of years. We have both always seen family as the most important thing and this has made it difficult to be away from family in South Africa - but starting a family of our own would fulfil a lifelong dream we each had on our own and now together as a couple.
