Family oriented and enjoying every moment of our 3 year old's life. My parents are a large part of our son's life as well, and they live nearby in Canmore. I also have a married cousin in Calgary who has an infant. They are very special to our son and we can see how much, he too, wants to have a sibling. We've been married 12 years. I'm a career woman who's dedicated the past 10 years to making the world a better place for the next generation by working in Renewable Energy. I work part-time around my son's naps and activities and expect to do this until he is full time school. My husband's work is flexible as well and he works from home. The 3 of us spend a great deal of time together and this is a joy. We've fostered our 2011 baby community in Calgary by hosting family music classes for 2 years in our home. I also contribute to the local mom community by running a popular birth year group.

Intended Parents preferences

We've done over 20 IUIs, IVFs and donor sperm and donor egg cycles and used 3 fertility clinics in 2 provinces and even had donor eggs from the US! We've basically tried everything we could. Through all of this we were blessed with a son in 2011. I am approaching the age where the clinics will no longer take me as a patient, and my body has been through a lot on this journey, but we have not yet completed our family.

Message from this intended parents

One of my son's cousins summed it up last year by saying "I wish I had his life!". That cousin was adopted at the age of 5 into his family and knows better than most what a treasure having a wonderful childhood is, as he did not have that in his own early years. His comment was the biggest compliment I could ever have received as a parent. After many years struggling with failed IUIs, IVFs, donors, and miscarriages, it is a gift that we have our son. We'd dearly love to add to our family with another child and give us all the gift of being a larger family. You may wish to have an on-going role in our family too, or not. If so, we'd welcome your extra love and interest in watching our family grow up. We are interested in hearing from surrogates who may come from outside of Canada as well.
