I am currently finishing a graduate degree in the humanities. Members of my immediate and extended family are fairly academically minded as well. While I adore intellectual pursuits, I have also been minimally involved in theatre and I love the outdoors. I am fairly easy going and I am more of an introvert than an extrovert, but my mother would adamantly assert that this does not mean that I didn’t have a “difficult” streak as a child! I am not the life of a party per say, but I do realize that we don’t get out of life alive, and I find humour in everyday situations; I believe that often times one’s situation can be as positive or dire as one perceives it. I would like to describe myself as fairly compassionate and patient; I love animals and have worked with seniors in the past. I also have an exceedingly close relationship with my family. I’m not exactly what you would call a wild-child, but I do consider myself a fairly independent gal. I am also quite hardworking, whether it is for course work or physically intensive outdoor labour, I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. (Sorry athletic parents to be, my coordination is about this much || ! Also, I am quite short on the “artistic abilities” chart).

At this point in time I am quite tentative about the whole possibility, but am definitely open. I have been touched by friends/family who have either been blessed through adoption, or are struggling with their own infertility issues. I feel like this would be an opportunity to do something truly positive and contributive for a loving couple who need a little help.

I’m sure that whatever has brought you to reading these profiles has been a painful and tumultuous journey. I’m also pretty sure that what lies ahead is not exactly a bed of roses either. This is obviously an incredibly personal decision for you (and me too!); I would love to hear all about your situation and am happy to answer whatever questions you may have about mine.
