Egg Donor journey and preferences

My decision to become an egg donor comes from a very personal place in my life and from the way my experiences have shaped my understanding of love, family, and what it means to feel wanted. Growing up, my mother was absent from my life for many years. She came back into my life when I was 19, and having her back was one of the greatest joys and accomplishments of my life. At the same time, I realized that the years we had spent apart had created a distance between us. We were almost strangers trying to learn each other again, and we had never had the opportunity to experience life together physically as mother and daughter. That experience stayed with me. I often found myself thinking about the kind of mother I would want to be one day. I would want my children to grow up knowing that they are loved, wanted, supported, and safe. I would want them to feel so assured of my love that they would never have to sit alone and wonder, “Does my mother really love me?” Because of my own experience, I have a deep appreciation for how meaningful it is for someone to have the opportunity to become a parent. Seeing someone who deeply wants a baby but may not be able to have one with their own eggs touches me deeply. I may not be fulfilling that dream for myself at this moment, but I can help another woman come closer to fulfilling hers. In a way, it feels like helping another woman experience a dream that many of us share—the dream of becoming a mother and giving a child the love we wish to give. I believe that a woman who has done everything she can to have a baby will cherish that child with all she has. She will make sure that the child knows they are wanted, loved, and valued. That belief gives me comfort in making this decision. Beyond my own experiences, I have always found it easy to find joy in making someone else happy. Seeing someone smile because I was able to contribute something meaningful to their life means a great deal to me. Knowing that something I did could help someone achieve one of the most important dreams of their life will always be a motivation for me.
