The Reasons I Want To Be A Sperm Donor:
I believe that every couple should be able to experience the joy of having a child. Although adoption is a viable and an important option that any couple having fertility problems should consider, I understand that some couples would prefer having a child that is more truly their own. I am willing to help provide that experience, as long as I am certain that the child will grow up in a loving, supportive environment. |
Description Of Myself:
I am currently a college student double majoring in biology and biochemistry with a GPA of 3.94. I plan to graduate in May of 2012, at which point I hope to go to medical school.
I am a Yoga instructor at my University's recreational center. I have also taught classes for a local studio. I am an avid cyclist, occasional jogger, fair-weather swimmer, hiking-enthusiast, vegetarian, and a lover of nature.
Of my biological grandparents, all are still alive except for one grandfather, who died of a heart-attack at 62, largely due to a poor diet, smoking, and heavy drinking. My other grandfather had a heart attack about ten years ago and had to have triple bypass surgery. He quit smoking and drinking to excess, and is still going strong at 78. I know of no one in my immediate or extended biological family who has been diagnosed with cancer. Obesity is present, but not widespread in my family, affecting my maternal grandmother, my uncle, and one of my cousins. I know of no genetic disorders or diseases that are present in our lineage. |
My Letter To You:
Greetings to You,
First, I wish you the best of luck and happiness in your journey. Raising a child is one of the most precious gifts that life has to offer. It is also a great responsibility, for in it you are being afforded the opportunity to guide and direct the infinite potential of life. Your desire to have a child is a beautiful and natural one, and my desire is that your hope and your desire may be fulfilled.
I hope that you have thoroughly explored and considered all of your options. Ultimately, one of the greatest problems we face is overpopulation, and as such, I especially hope that you have considered adoption. So many children in this world are unloved, without the warm presence of a family, and providing that is truly a manifestation of the greatness to which we should all aspire. However, I understand that for some, adoption is not the most desired route.
Every child should grow up with love. This is more important than money, social status, or any other conceivable factor. Loving parents provide for their children, listen to their worries and concerns, share in their joy, and act as guides as a child progresses through life. Loving parents also provide structure and discipline, but not to excess.
Raising a child is no easy task, and I expect that you will have the courage, the discipline, and the dedication necessary to not only bring up a child, but to help that child to be a good person. A good person is not defined by religion, race, gender, creed, or ethnicity. A good person is one who cares for the world around them, who can see others outside of themselves, and who is willing to sacrifice to make the lives of other people a little bit better.
If you believe that you can raise a child with love, kindness, discipline, and integrity, I believe that you should have the chance to try. Please contact me.
Namaste. The light within me honors the light within you.
