Intended parents surrogacy preferences

I suffer from pcos and have been trying to get pregnant for a while with no success. I previously went to endless gyno appointments with my ex partner only for him to leave me when I couldn't get pregnant. Now in a very happy relationship with my new partner of 2 years we are looking to start a family and feel that a surrogate is a good option for us.
