I’m 45 now , we’ve been riding the Ivf rollercoaster of emotions for ten years now. My husband is 59 - I know it sounds old but he’s fit in the army and he would make the most amazing father. He’s so caring and attentive and he loves kids and adores dogs- We both hate animal cruelty. As for me I work as a nurse in the Nhs. I’m very loving and caring and My biggest Achilles heel is seeing lonely old people. That breaks my heart. I’m known at work for being the one that’s always cuddling the patients! I’ve wanted to be a mum for so long. I had my first miscarriage at 26 then 27 with my first husband and then after my divorce I met Andrew and we started trying straight away. We both have no children and wanted desperately to be a mum and dad. Sadly our Ivf journey has been one of lots of tears and hope and then gut wrenching sadness. I know we would make great parents even tho we are ‘older’. We’re both fit and well and have never smoked. Andrews much fitter than I am but I’m active all the time and not overweight and all my blood tests are spot on. We both like to travel and we laugh a lot as a couple in between the ivf’s. Andrew has a great sense of humour - he’s initially quite shy but once he gets to know you he will be relaxed and his usual self. I’m down to earth and always thinking of other people usually before myself. I like to read , watch movies and travel. I finished my Masters degree three years ago and now trying to be the best I can be at work. X

Intended parents surrogacy preferences

We have had 8 miscarriages thru IVF including egg donation. The clinic can’t explain why they have failed as the embryos are a good grade and physically we are fine from all the tests we have had. Heartbreakingly we last had a miscarriage two months ago and now have come to the realisation that I need to remove myself from the equation and opt for someone else to carry a baby for us. We have two frozen embryos left and want dearly for Someone to help us. I think anyone that wants to be a surrogate is amazing I just hope we can find someone that can help make us into a family that we so desperately want to be.

Message from the intended parents

To our potential surrogate mother. What can we say other than firstly we are looking for a genuine surrogate - and if you are this person then you should know that we think you are an amazing selfless woman for even contemplating surrogacy. Truly you are an angel. We live in Manchester and have two frozen embryos at the Manchester fertility clinic that we are hoping could be transferred to our surrogate mother. If you were to choose us we would be 100 supportive of your wants and needs and will respect your private space. Sadly, We are not rich I wish we were! Ivf has cost us so much over the years and as a nurse and soldier our wages aren’t phenomenal but of course we would be willing to get a loan out to fund whatever your expenses are. Not sure what else to say other than even if you don’t choose us we think you are an amazing person for doing this. X
