About this intended parents profile

I am 34 years old with a very outgoing personality and wicked sense of humour. I work at our local hospital in administration. I enjoy playing the piano/sax, painting/art and am getting back into the sports that I use to love before my health troubles. My husband is 37 and the most wonderful person I have ever met. He is the most loving, caring soul and held in high regard in our community. He is a boilermaker (though in the process of a career change to the QLD Fire Brigade). He is very athletic and is a karate instructor.We live in a small tourist/cane farming area (Whitsundays) which is a wonderful area to raise a family. I come from a very large family and my Husband is from Italian ancestry so we are very family orientated.We have many friends with children and we are always doing things together such as camping, fishing etc

My husband was diagnosed in 2001 with non-hodgkins lymphoma. The cancer was that aggresive the Doctors didn't even think he would survive! But he did & I was lucky enough to meet my soul mate at the start of 2005. I was a divorced single mother to the light of my life - my son (now 11). We tried desperatly to have children of our own and undertook years of IVF. Sadly this process took an unbelievable toll on my body and had to have a full hysterectomy including ovaries.. It has been a tough few years recovering from this emotionally & physically. We are lucky enough to have my son from my first marriage but we would love to have a child together and to give my son a baby brother or sister he longs for as much as we do. We are definatly looking for a surrogant mother. We have listed donors as well but may have doners via friends/family but still weighing up our options on this and would love to hear from anyone wishing to donate as well.

I can not begin to tell you what a beautiful thing you are doing, even if not for us but someone else out there who are in our position. To be willing to give someone part of yourself, whether as a donor or a surrogant, so their dreams can come true has to be the most unselfish act I can think of.
