My partner and I have been together for 9 years and a child is something we have both wanted and longed for before we even knew we were gay. To be a gay male couple leaves very limited options to become a parent, and to have such amazing women willing to help bring us the gift of life is beautiful. we both know in our hearts that we would be great parents, along with all our family and friends and although the absence of a female "mother figure" which so regularly gets used as the reason as to why gay men would not make suitable parents, to know that along with us you know that a loving, supporting family home is what any child needs. When then have plenty of great women in our lives who will be loving and supporting role models, and for this we know we are blessed in many ways.

Without your amazing gesture, and willingness to see that a family can be made up purely of loving parents, no matter the gender, this opportunity would not even be feasible. It is you who will nurture and grow our child through the first stages of life and without you it would be impossible. I can only imagine this would not be an easy gift to offer, and the unselfish and beautiful nature displayed is a characteristic we could only hope to be in our child. We would definitely like to remain in contact, as after all, you will be the reason this all was able to happen, and would love the idea of a life long friendship, becoming like an aunty and cousins to our child.
