Living in Brisbane, we are a hopeful couple navigating the complexities of starting a family. Despite facing significant health challenges, including my heart condition, we remain positive and full of love. We have explored IVF, but with no success yet, it has led us to consider finding a surrogate. About this intended parents profile

I am a very positive, happy person who is determined and tries to see the good in every situation. My husband and I do not let the past keep us down. During our journey a few friends have offered to carry our baby but at the time I was perfectly healthy and determined to do this myself....they are all too old now. We are Godparents to a lot of children, we have nieces and nephews and two beautiful dogs who are far too spoilt....the only thing missing is a child of our own.

I have genetic cardiomyopathy heart disease and pregnancy could speed up the disease or kill me. I have had numerous attempts of IVF, as my husband had throat cancer years ago but is now in full remission. I have found in the last 2 weeks that my heart has deteriorated slightly, into the dangerous category if thinking of pregnancy. This has left me devastated has I am fit and really look after myself with diet and natural therapy. My entire direct family has heart disease. My sister fell pregnant at 30, was misdiagnosed, had my niece then needed a heart transplant. I was told at this time when I was in my prime that it would be too dangerous and the decision to have a child was taken from me. It took many many years to talk my husband into letting me try IVF, as I thought I would go mad if I didn't give it a try. We had one miscarriage and no luck since. A lot has happened with the family illnesses and I think I stress thinking the worst will happen. In the last eight years I have lost my brother, father and sister – yes I am sick of doing eulogy’s...they are very hard! Mother has this disease also but is still with us and doing well. Dramatic story I know...but I am a very happy person…I am just missing a little bundle of joy.

I am hoping there is an angel out there who can bless us with the selfless act of carrying our child. I know this is an incredible job and some exceptional women find pregnancy a wonderful journey. We have a devastating and dramatic story and proof reading this made me cry...but works as good therapy! I know I have not completed my baby journey and hope a beautiful generous soul can help us.
